Calling Se7en a slow burn doesn’t do it justice.
These are the ones that didn’t hold all my attention or asked a lot of “Why?” questions while it was on: Ma, Togo, The Lovebirds, Romeo Must Die (I know), and the National Treasure series!
Here’s a dump of small reviews as I try to get back in the groove: Parasite, Pan’s Labyrinth, Hell or High Water, Police Story, King Fu Hustle, Intermission, Da 5 Bloods, and Air Force One!
Basically: It’s not a bad movie, but damn- that trailer is misleading.
It’s, ah… it sounds more fun than it actually is.
Cynthia Erivo is so damn perfect in this. And that voice. Wow.
This might be my favorite cinematography this year.

Not only is Dunkirk visually amazing, but it has a really incredible pacing with tangible tension- without the typical gratuitous violence and R-rating we associate with the genre.
